I’ve Been Moved. Have You?

Category : health/wellness

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to let you know that in the past year I have been moved to follow a new healing path (and moved to a new website). I am doing coaching at my new place–The Goddess Dreams. You can follow me there if you like and find out about what I’m doing now.

Sometime soon, Reikified! will undergo a change of its own, becoming more of a clearinghouse for those people that I work with who I learned healing from or who learned healing from me. Stick around, you may like what you see.

Until then, please join me over at thegoddessdreams.com where you can subscribe to my new blog, Creatrix.

All the best,

Are you ready to Master Reiki?

Category : healing, health/wellness, reiki classes, reiki techniques, self treatment

They say that when the student is ready the master will appear.  If you are ready to become that sought after master, I am holding a Reiki Master Certification class this weekend.  This is kind of a last call, so if you are interested you must let me know by Wednesday, January 22.

Here is how I describe the type of  Reiki I practice and teach.  I call it Shamanic Reiki because it combines both Shamanism and Reiki to heal.

Reiki is a system of hands-on energy healing discovered by Mikao Usui, a Japanese healer in 1927. Using Reiki, a practitioner taps into Universal Life Force energy for healing, prayer, guidance and relaxation.  It is a very potent form of vibrational healing that is passed from teacher to student during an attunement process.  Dee has attained the master level in this form of Reiki, as well as Karuna Reiki, which is an advanced system developed by William Rand.

Shamanism is a natural path of healing and is the oldest form of spiritual practice on the planet. Shamans act as intermediaries between the world of spirit and the mundane world, using transcendant states of consciousness.  In this state they can access animal spirit allies, the energies of the four directions, and the wisdom of Mother Earth, Father Sky, the Star Nations, etc.

In both practices, contact and connection with Spirit is paramount.  By combining these practices, Dee is able to access both the lower and upper worlds, to connect with loved ones on the other side, to help retrieve or recover lost soul pieces, to extract and clear heavy or dense energies, to balance the chakras and to read the energy system for weaknesses in need of attention.

energymassageThis is a special two-day class that encompasses both Reiki Master and Master Teacher classes. The Reiki Master attunement increases both the amount of reiki energy the practitioner can hold and the commitment of the practitioner to Reiki as a spiritual path.  Reiki mastership often provides an awakening to a greater calling toward one’s life purpose and should be undertaken with seriousness. Emphasis is on dedication to service to spirit.  The master symbol is introduced.

The Reiki Master Teacher portion of the class teaches how to pass attunements, arrange classes and other topics necessary to help you become a great Reiki teacher as well as practitioner.  Two additional symbols are learned.  A manual is provided as well as ample practice time for all attunements and other techniques introduced.

Reiki I and II are prerequisites to this course.  You will need to bring your certificates to class unless you have studied with me before.  All are welcome, even if they have studied with another teacher before.

treeReikified! is branching out!

I haven’t written in a while, but much is going on in Reikified! territory.  Many of you know I have expanded into Manhattan, working as a practitioner at the Association for Research and Enlightenment (A.R.E.) also known as the Edgar Cayce Center.

I am also reaching northward to conduct workshops and Reiki training at the Westchester Yoga Arts studio in New Rochelle.  We are holding an introductory energy workshop on Sunday, February 17, 2-4 pm.  Then in spring we’ll be holding Reiki I and II classes on April 13 and 14.  I will be debuting new materials and meditations for this training, so you don’t want to miss it!  Click here to find out more and register for special discounts for the class.

In the meantime, please check out the Studio.  Wendy, the owner is a dynamite lady who specializes in teaching yoga–so you know her classes and her instructors are on point!

As always, please feel free to contact me at 646-355-7934 with any questions or comments.

Change in Plans

Category : health/wellness

Hi everyone,

I hope everyone affected is recovering from the storm.  My heart is with all those people who lost so much and are still trying to regroup. If you are doing fine, I hope you will find some way to help ease the plight of those still affected.

Thanks to Sandy I am currently rescheduling all workshops for October and November.  Please bear with me in that regard.  I will let you know about new plans as soon as I know them.

Do you know where you’re going to . . .

Category : ancestors, dreamwork, health/wellness

The other night I had a dream fragment, a piece of wood drifting on water.  That’s it.  Some great, informative dream right there, no?  But I woke up with the theme from the movie Mahogany playing in my head.  Do you know where you’re going to?  Do you like the things that life is showing you?  And on and on.  Mahogany just happens to be a type of wood, so I looked it up on the source of all true knowledge–(ahem)–Wikipedia.

Mahogany is areddish brown, tropical wood indigenous to north and south America, including the islands of the Carribean (most notably Jamaica).  When brought to the Americas as slaves, Yoruba and Ibo folks referred to this tree as ‘m’oganwo’ as it appeared to be similar to another tree back home.

So it seems the ancestors are speaking to me through this piece of wood, telling me to take a look at my history in terms of the indigenous people of these lands.  It has been  on my mind, so such a message is not completely unexpected.  In fact, the next book on my tbr (to be read) pile is Of Water and the Spirit by Malidoma Patrice Some, an African author.  I found this title in a used book store while I was looking for books on Regency England.  Go figure.  Spirit does move in mysterious ways.

What is Spirit moving you toward right now?  Are you going willingly or resisting?  How can you incorporate the new in with the old to expand your purpose or happiness in life?

Dream a little dream of . . . you

Category : dreamwork, health/wellness, journeying, meditation, workshops

This weekend I will be heading up to the Omega Center in Rhinebeck, NY for a seminar I have been dreaming about fora long time.  Robert Moss has turned his book, Dreaming the Soul Back Home into a workshop–and I couldn’t be more thrilled.  I have had a lifelong fascination with dreams–having them, interpreting and, lately, using them to help heal.  This work deals with helping folks find wholeness through night dreams and journeying to parts of ourselves we have lost along our life path.  Reclaiming oneself from the abyss is healing, energizing, life altering and one of the most important aspect of what we can do as healers.

So don’t be surprised if you find me coming back from this weekend a changed woman.  I have already begun to dream about what is next in store for me–or if I start my next session with you by saying, “tell me what you dreamt last night.”

Your bliss is calling

Category : health/wellness

Today is 10/11/12, a powerful numerical succession.  I don’t know about you, but I am really feeling the strength of this vibration today.  A Facebook friend of mine posted that it isn’t uncommon today to feel ringing in the ears (your Angels are on the line) as well as other energetic symptoms.

Since I haven’t picked a card in a long while, I decided to do a little divination for us.  I used the Psychic Tarot deck by John Holland and got Passion Ignited.

This is the first card in the Spirit section of the deck.  This card indicates it is time to “let your soul soar.”  Or as we say at Reikified!  let the Spirit move you.  This is a card of calling.  Your Angels or Guides are reaching out to you trying to draw you along your spiritual path–either to begin or deepen it.  Ironically, I am hosting a meditation tomorrow night to meet your Spiritual Guides.  It’s time for all of us to pay attention to the piper’s call.  Either that or end up like the lad in Shel Silverstein’s rendition of the story of the Pied Piper.  I am paraphrasing here, but it is told from the point of view of the one child left behind.  He says, “I heard, I heard, I heard him call.  I was afraid to answer.”  Don’t be afraid to follow the passion that you are being called to, in whatever guise it takes.

Opening up . . .

Category : energy work, health/wellness, just for fun, reiki classes

The Reikified! offices are finally open!

I have finally found a small space in which to practice Reiki and other healing modalities.  It’s a whole four blocks away from my house, so I can walk to “work” every day.  I’m very pleased at how it turned out.  It was a true family effort with my kids, sisters, nephews and other folks helping me paint, clean up and redecorate. Thanks guys!

Here are a few pictures from our Open House:

Welcome to the new office.

Take a card or a refrigerator magnet or two.
